After experiencing frequent headaches and blurry vision, Alyssa was diagnosed with a tumour on her brain stem that required a complex surgery. The support of her school and the IWK's Child Life team helped give her strength as she began her IWK journey.

Hope from New Waterford, Cape Breton was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was two – a condition that affects her muscle strength and her ability to eat food. In June 2018, at the age of seven, the IWK continues to be there for every step of her health care journey.

Michael is no stranger to the IWK Telethon for Children. We first met this incredible young man in 2011 when he was battling a brain tumour. Now in remission, Michael is studying engineering and continues to give back to the place that saved his life. Let’s see how Michael is doing today.
