Liam, IWK Patient

Liam

Liam of Chester, NS was born with half a heart—a condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. He had five open heart surgeries and countless stays at the IWK by the time he was a three-year-old.

NSLC Employee

NSLC

One of the IWK’s most longstanding community supporters has been the NSLC. For more than three decades, the employees, partners and customers of the NSLC have made the IWK a priority, donating much needed funds to support the women, children, youth and families that rely on the IWK.

Avery, IWK patient

Avery

To hear the giggles come from eight-year-old Avery today you’d never know that a year earlier she went from fighting cold symptoms to fighting for her life.

Andrea Crowe

Andrea Crowe Trust

One’s life is not measured in number of years lived, but by the impact they have had while living. There is no truer statement to describe the life and legacy of Andrea Crowe.

Katie, IWK patient

Katie

It’s not uncommon to hear patients say that the IWK is like a home-away-from-home. For eight-year-old Katie from Shelburne, NS it was her very first home where she lived for the first 630 days of her life.
